About the role
We are seeking a creative and digitally savvy Communications Intern to help us tell the story of our impact in technology education and digital skills development. This role is perfect for a storyteller who thrives behind the camera, loves crafting engaging content, and is passionate about using media to inspire and inform communities about STEM education.
As our Communications Intern, you will be the eyes and ears of our programs, capturing authentic moments from classrooms, bootcamps, and community events, then transforming them into compelling content that resonates across our digital platforms. You'll gain hands-on experience in multimedia content creation, social media management, and brand storytelling while contributing to a mission that empowers young people through technology.
What you'll do
- Capture high-quality photos & videos during classes, bootcamps, and events
- Create content and manage social media content across platforms
- Design posters, flyers & social media graphics
- Edit videos and support YouTube uploads & optimization
- Support brand storytelling, copywriting, and online engagement
Requirements
- Student or recent graduate in Media, Communications, Marketing, Journalism (or strong creative portfolio)
- Proficient in photography and videography
- Skilled in Canva, Premiere Pro, and CapCut (or similar tools)
- Proficient across Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook & YouTube
- Strong copywriting ability with excellent English & Swahili communication skills
- Curious about tech, STEM, and digital skills programs
- Candidate based in Mombasa
